The Broke Photographer
Disclaimer: I practice photography for fun, not to make money. I do not use an expensive, high-end camera, because I can’t afford one. Instead, I use a Nikon Coolpix that I’ve had since 2008. I do not use artificial lighting, special lens filters, or even a tripod because, again, I can’t afford them. In other words, my photography is of the bare-bones, point-and-shoot variety. I don’t even edit my photos beyond basic cropping because I believe photography is meant to capture the reality of how something looks and not the way I want it to look. (And also because I can’t afford Photoshop either.) If you’re an art snob and think someone like me has no business practicing photography, I have great news for you. You don’t have to look at it. There’s a tiny ‘x’ on the side of your browser tab that will make my plebeian photos vanish from your sight if you click it. For everyone who is not a stuck-up elitist (or an AI bot ripping images from the web without crediting the people who made them), my photos are here for you to enjoy. They aren’t perfect, but they’re the best I could do with what I’ve got.
